Happy Mother's Day!

Today has been a wonderful Mother's day!

It started out not so good-Anthony went into work last night at 5pm for some scheduled updating. He figured it would take an hour or two. He called me at 9pm to tell me it was going to be a while, and when Sydney and I woke up at 9am he was still at work. Ugh, poor guy! Thank you to Sydney for letting mama sleep in until 9am. Now that was a gift.

We picked Anthony up from work and went to Papa and Nana's house for a Mother's day brunch. Surprisingly Anthony stayed awake and even socialized a bit! Trevor and Michelle joined us also. Afterwards we drove up to my mom's grave and brought her flowers.

We went to dinner at Bob's Burger and Brew and yes, it really was my choice, haha! Sounds like something Anthony would choose, huh? It was actually one of our fave restaurants during my college years in Bellingham.

Mother's day was always such a difficult holiday for me after my mom died when I was 20. It was one that I wanted to forget because I missed my mom so much and missed spending time with her. Once Sydney arrived Mother's day became a new holiday. It's a day I remember my mom and my terrific childhood and all the things she taught me. And it's a day to count my blessings that I have such an amazing child (and another on the way!) and a wonderful husband who makes me a better mom. And a day to celebrate my new moms, my step mom Kay and my mother in law Beverly. Kay has been such a blessing to our family and makes my dad (and us!) so happy. And no, she really never is in a bad mood. You can't help but feel great around her. And Beverly would be the mother in law I would hand pick if I was given a chance. She is so patient, thoughtful and caring. In fact, she reminds me a lot of my mom. If my mom were still alive they would be great friends and calling each other every week, although they'd probably be worrying about Sydney being cold or not getting enough milk or something. haha. No, but really, they'd be great friends.
Here are a few pictures of our day...

I am glad you had a happy mommy's day! The other day my mom sent me an email that said "Tell Stace I said hi, I really liked her and her mom was so sweet." I don't even remember them talking but my mom remembers her. Anyways...I am glad you have new mommies and Sydney and a baby on the way! YAY!!!
